Fun with the Gustafsons

We've been having fun with Steve's parents, and have taken some day trips to Bennington Vermont and Lake George. In between times we are putting them to work packing! Our closing day is Friday and then we will spend the weekend moving.
Thomas is up to 4 steps now, although he is choosy about when he does it! He's also working on 4 more teeth - including 3 molars.

Boston Trip

We're home from our week of conference trips and sightseeing. Our first stop was Dartmouth in Hanover, NH for the AI50 conference. Then we met up with the Gustafsons in Boston for the AAAI conference, and a little sightseeing and ice cream in Quincy Market! Now we are at home preparing for our move next weekend. Wish us luck!

In Boston...

We're having a great time in Boston and touring all the sights with Steve's parents - while trying to cope with this heat! We'll be home Thursday night and will try to post photos soon.

Playtime

We're having a lot of fun playing with Thomas' new toys! He is getting better and better at standing alone and his first steps will be any day now. He went for his 1 year checkup yesterday and is on 75th percentile for height and 25th for weight. He didn't like the experience and screamed whenever the doctor or nurse came near him!

Saratoga Historical Park

Sunday morning we took a long hike at Saratoga Historical Park, where the battle of Saratoga took place in 1777. It was a beautiful morning but got hot very quickly! We had lunch in Saratoga Springs and headed home in time to watch the World Cup final.

1st Birthday

Thomas had a wonderful 1st birthday! We spent the morning opening and playing with all his new presents. After taking him for his birthday photos at the mall, we went to lunch at Panera and he enjoyed his own turkey sandwich. After lunch we came home and had cake and ice cream, then hit the pool for some swimming. It was a great day!

Happy 4th of July!

We took a walk around Peebles Island this morning with Bryan before he set off back to Philly. It looks like we will be skipping out on the fireworks this year since Thomas is already in bed!

Last night we went to a barbeque with some friends from the moms club group, and they surprised Thomas with some early birthday presents. Click on the photo above to see a short video of Thomas with his new toy!

Catskills visit

Yesterday we went to Woodstock where we met our friend Bryan for lunch and a hike up Overlook Mountain. The trail up the mountain was an old road bed and since Thomas was due for a nap, we decided to take the buggy up so he could sleep. He only slept about half the way, so we were left pushing a buggy uphill for over an hour! The views from the fire tower on the mountain were well worth the excercise.
