We love spring!

Summer in NY

The temps hit 85 yesterday, so we got the sand box out and some new sand for the boys - they loved it, especially Andrew. Last night we had our first BBQ of the summer with our neighbors, what a perfect day. It is meant to be in the 70s all week this week and we are loving it!

2 Cooks in the Kitchen

Thomas really loves to help out in the kitchen! As soon as he sees one of us at work making a meal, he pulls over a chair, hops up and asks to help! Here he is helping Kristin make gnocchi. Flour on the face optional! Steve and Andrew are watching from the wings.

EuroGP 2009

Steve had a great conference trip to Tubingen, Germany. He was the co-chair of the conference this year and spent a lot of time preparing for it with his italian counterpart, Leonardo.





Tubingen is a picturesque university town on the banks of the Neckar in southern Germany. The cultural outing was to a local castle still owned by the current royal family.

We are glad things went so well for him at the conference but are even happier to have him home with us!

Some photos of the day's highlights! The boys loved their Easter treats and are still toting their baskets around the house, shedding easter grass everywhere. It was too cold to do an egg hunt outside, so the Easter Bunny kindly arranged for one indoors!

House of Illness

Welcome of the house of illness! We've all been suffering from spring colds, and Andrew has introduced the joy of pinkeye to our home. So far, he's kept it to himself but it might just be a matter of time! This has curtailed all normal activities so today we're confined to the house and yard for our entertainment. Thomas loves playing his computer games.

We are counting down the days until Easter and Thomas is very excited about all these packages that keep arriving from the Easter bunny's 'helpers'. Those baskets will be overflowing!

Drummer Boys

Some friends of ours very graciously gave us their kids outgrown drum set this weekend. It is a huge hit with our boys! We think they have natural rhythm. :)

Here are some videos, be sure and turn the sound up loud so you can get the full effect of the acoustics of the basement of the NYGustafson house. Thomas has been prefacing his solos with 'Uh 1, uh 2, uh 1 2 3 4' which is very authentic but we're not too sure where he picked up!
