New Door

This week we had a door installed in the dining room, replacing a window and making it easier to get outside (without trooping through the garage!) Here are the before and after photos:

Thomas' First Day

Thomas started school last week, and is in a class with a great group of 17 other children and his teacher from last year, Mrs Holmes. Yay for nursery school!

Apple Picking

Going to the local orchards is one of our favorite things about Fall in this part of the country. We went out this morning to check out the current offerings and were not disappointed! Looks like we're making applesauce this week. I brought along a tub of peanut butter this time to add to our picnic offering afterwards.

Busy Week

This has been a busy week for us, as I prepared and finally submitted my Masters dissertation on Thursday. The boys took me out for a nice dinner to celebrate, and now I wait until the November regents meeting to find out how I did.

We're also getting ready for Thomas to start nursery school, he has a phase-in day on Wednesday and Friday will be his first day. I'm lucky enough to be parent helper that day so it should be interesting! This year, I'm also co-chair of the school which has kept me busy with all the things going on behind the scenes to get ready for the new year.

Thomas also had his first soccer class this week, which Steve is the parent helper for. It was very fun for them both! Here's our little man in his new soccer shoes and shin guards.

Labor Day Weekend

We celebrated Labor Day weekend with a trip to the coast at Cape Ann in Massachusetts. This was our first beach outing since moving to the east coast! We all had a fabulous time splashing around and hope to make this trip a repeat. We had beautiful weather and got some great pictures which are posted in the photo album.

Tonight we had a bbq at home with some more of our farm share bounty. Summer is definitely coming to a close!
